About Us

Who we are

Prospects College of Higher Education is Sri Lanka's premier pathway college. We teach the first year of an Australian or UK degree here in Colombo, to the standard the partner university sets, so that our students transfer abroad with credit rather than starting again.

From our inception, PCHE has grown to become a trusted route for students seeking international education. We operate as part of Prospects Holdings, and that network is what allows a college of our size to maintain articulation agreements with ten universities across two countries.

The model is simple to state and demanding to run: global education, local start. One year in Colombo. Two years abroad. One degree, awarded by the university whose name is on it.

Our vision

To be the premier institution in Sri Lanka for international education pathways, empowering students to achieve global success.

Our mission

To provide accessible international education pathways through university partnerships, preparing students for global careers by offering world-class programmes, facilitating seamless transitions abroad, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Why PCHE

  • 01

    Internationally recognised qualifications

You graduate with a degree awarded by the partner university, identical to the one earned by students who spent all three years on their campus.

  • 02

    Partnerships that are actively maintained

10 universities across Australia and the UK, with curricula reviewed against partner year-one content each cycle so credit transfers cleanly.

  • 03

A local start on a global degree

The first year in Colombo costs a fraction of the same year abroad, and gives you time to be certain about the subject before you commit to the move.

  • 04

    Programmes built for employability

Placements, live projects and Career Launchpad, our placement partnership with XpressJobs, connect students to work before they graduate.

  • 05

    Lecturers with practice behind them

An academic panel drawn from industry and from university teaching, small enough that every student is known by name.

  • 06

    Modern campuses in central Colombo

Two campuses on Dharmapala Mawatha and Baudhaloka Mawatha, with teaching spaces, library and study areas designed for the way the programmes are taught.

Student reviews

  • I joined PCHE after completing my A/Ls. The practical exposure, experience and opportunities I received throughout the Diploma in Early Childhood Education, which included placements at well-equipped preschools, prepared me well to commence the second year of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Deakin University. The lecturers, as well as the Director of Academics, personally supported, guided and motivated me throughout my learning journey.

  • I love working with kids and found that a degree in early childhood education would let me fulfil my dream of becoming an effective early childhood educator. I enrolled for the Diploma at PCHE because I wanted to complete the pathway programme in Sri Lanka and continue at Deakin from the second year onwards. The curriculum was comprehensive and covered diverse topics.

  • I recently arrived at Deakin University in Melbourne, and what a journey it has been. It began when I enrolled at PCHE to pursue a Diploma in Early Childhood Education leading to a bachelor's degree at Deakin. I had limited knowledge of the subject areas, but the lecturers, led by the Director of Academics, were helpful, friendly and approachable, and gave me invaluable, in-depth insight into the industry.
